There is a cherished time in our lives
that is unaffected by the passage of time,
It is our memories of youth.
When everything is filled with the promise of dreams,
and the certainty that we shall conquer the world,
and its riches shall be ours for the taking.
The winds of change usher in the passing of the years,
and dreams fade and die,
making way for the future dreamers.
These are the first two images in my Passage of Time series. I wasn’t sure initially, where I wanted to go with these images so they have two very different looks. Perhaps the theme will be enough to tie them together. My goal in the first composite was to incorporate the feel of youthfulness, the softness of the memories that we carry with us as we age and treasure them in our thoughts. My intentions in the second image was to show the effects of aging, the passage of time, and decay. The common factor in both images is the car, in the first it is new and shiny, in the second it is a rusting, broken down heap with the surrounding vegetation taking it over and replacing it. They are both conceptual composites that are made from several of my own images that I am including in the next image. I also incorporated a little illustration and digital painting in the flowing gown, and the small hat that is caught by the morning breeze.
