City Animals

The City Fables project explores how storytelling about urban life in contemporary cities is negotiated, remediated and circulated. The project works with interventions and speculative research methods in lab-form, seeking to shape public narratives that frame citylife. Using the “fable” as organizing metaphor, the shadowlands between fiction and documentary is mapped in terms of how strategies and counter-strategies are elaborated for highlighting critical phenomena in the contemporary digitized and datafied city.
Although we are more interested in constructing the future than digging into the past we acknowledge and are indebted to work that; pairs pharmaceuticals and networked governance, intertwines network media and organizational technologies, twists and reveals economic myth-making develops techniques and tools for mapping risks and controversies and poetic remediation which intertwines the structure of language with the healing principles of various medicaments and also economic and big data art works to name a few themes that is inspiring the project.
