Advanced Painting 2014

For some artists, illustrators, and students, being told what to create is the easy part. It is when one is left to create their own parameters that new challenges arise. In the beginning I was faced with the question of what to paint, of which there was no right answer, only infinite possibilities. Part of making progress through this is having the courage to become specific, to begin creating, and to respond to the work you make as you make it and as you reflect on it.

I started with not much of a clear idea of where I wanted to go. I knew I wanted to merge different images. In doing so, surreal juxtapositions were born.
