This was my design entry for the competition held by the bank which was luckily chosen by the judges as the winner. Announced on February 2011.

Rationale:
Based on the Cross-Cultural theme, the design mixes a modern representative by a Western woman golfer with cultural elements such as traditional dances in this case. The idea came from Asian cultural fans as the oriental dance identity. Opening of a folding fan by a dancer is a metaphor for the opening of the golf tournament, HSBC Women’s Champions 2011. It is all started by a swing of a golf stick.
Vibrant brush splashes blended with triangle elements, resembles the dynamism and the spirit of the tournament which sponsored by HSBC, as its logo represented by leading six red triangles.
Overall, the design looks contemporary and corporate while maintaining the cultural values of the nations in Singapore where the tournament is held
