A couple of years ago driving back from a gallery exhibition together with some friends, we happened to have a very deep almost philosophical conversation about our lives related to time and people.
Time passing by, and people passing by.

The kind of life we are having right now, having the job we have and doing what we do, takes us to different places, also quite far away from each other, meeting many people also coming from many other different places.
Most of the time the kind of experience we have is temporary.
It can be a few months, a year, two years...
Once this period is over and you move on, you say goodbye to these people and yes you will get in touch, but it will be different.
And it will be different because the 'universe' you share will be different.
Anywhere we live, any experience we might have, we seem able to share it on a deep level only with the same people who share with us exactly the same context.
Think about it.
It doesn't matter how close you are with someone, if you just don't share the same space-and-time kind of universe, the most of the things that matter to you, simply cannot be shared.
As if the reality you live in right now it's a self-contained-universe, with very independent sets of rules.
It creates a bubble around you, and the people who are within this bubble can sort of share things with you, silly things and important things.
Whoever is out of this bubble, simply cannot.
But everyone, anywhere lives in similar kinds of bubbles too at the same time;
universes that include other people, universes which from time to time you might be part of as well.
It's hard to describe, but somehow it is like this.

Our life it's a life of parallel universes.

And everytime something new happens in our lives, it's like we enter a brand new universe, with different dynamics and logics.
The nice part of all this is that all these universes are self-contained worlds coexisting at the same time with or without us.
Which also means that whenever you get back in the same bubble again, somehow you get that whole universe back, you catch up with everyone and everything you left there.
From one universe we can kind of spy what's going on in other universes, also the ones that we used to belong to.
But it's not the same thing, we will never get it right.
We belong only to one universe at a time.
When life changes and we move on and we start something else somewhere else, it's like we are closing this universe door behind us.
With all our memories, our feelings, our stories, friends, people and places, all kept there waiting for us.
We might come back one day.
We might not.
Meanwhile, buena vida.

These two illustrations are meant not to forget that long deep talk, from within the same bubble.
