Ferriveloci is the name of a young and talented duo of bike frame builders, Gianmaria and Paolo,
who founded their workshop in Milan in October 2013.

Learning the heritage craft from the great Italian masters and their different philosophies in building frames
and constructing details, Ferriveloci's goal is to keep the Milanese frame-building craft alive, neither all its peculiarities, spreading this passion through every frame they build.

I discussed with Ferriveloci their idea of logo, the aesthetic feeling they wanted to have and what they
wanted to communicate:
The heritage of a great craft.
The hystory of a great city.
The peculiar 'pistaiola' craft-school initiated by Brambilla and continued by Pogliaghi and Camillotto.

Together with Ferriveloci, I translated all these elements in a logo that combines the Coat of Arms of the
Visconti (the noble family that ruled Milan from 13th to 15th Century), the metal pin holding frame parts
together during brazing, the shape of Velodromo Vigorelli (the famous track bike velodrome in Milan)
in the colors of the Italian flag.
The crosses on the Arms crown refer to the ferric ion (Fe+++), part of Ferriveloci identity.
