平 is a branding design inspired by the works of Kumi Yamashita, an installation artist.
From her works, I derived the concept "Balance & Harmony"
FIVE SENSES X MIND
The range of products available include candle, diffuser, massage oil, tea and music. Each of these products are means for a specific bodily sense, allowing the user to create balance in their body and mind in its entirety.
BALANCE & HARMONY
Balance and harmony can be created with the use of opposing elements together to create a pleasing whole. This can be created with elements such as light and shadow, black and white, positive and negative, as well as material and immaterial to evoke a sense of dualism.
BALANCE & HARMONY IN KUMI’S WORK
Balance and harmony can be seen in Kumi’s work Light and shadow where she makes use of a balance of material and immaterial space, as well as the idea of permanence and impermanence to create a harmonious whole. In her work Constellations, harmony and balance and be seen from the use of black and white and the contrasting materials – nails and thread.
