YR Store x A BATHING APE® Collaboration at Selfridges
Renowned print specialist YR Store recently ran a special collaboration with cult Japanese streetwear brand A BATHING APE®. Taking place on the menswear floor of Selfridges, Oxford Street, YR x A BATHING APE® the collaboration offered exclusive prints and patterns designed specifically for the collaboration.
The YR x A BATHING APE® installation ran in the prestigious department store throughout the Christmas season. For die-hard fans of the iconic brand, the collaboration was a once in a lifetime opportunity to delve into the BAPE® pattern archives to create their own personalised product. Consumers were able to select from a range of exclusive BAPE® designs to print on premium t-shirts alongside customisable varsity text and numbers filled with a classic BAPE® camo pattern of their choice.
YR Store Creative Director Tim Williams said, “It was incredible to collaborate with such a respected streetwear brand like BAPE®. Bespoke and customisation are key to our brand’s identity and this collaboration allowed us to offer our consumers something completely different, a collector’s item even. To ensure the best in quality, we invested in a state-of- the-art live digital print process where consumers can get their tees printed in just a few minutes.”
YR x A BATHING APE® was available exclusively in Selfridges London from the 24th October – 24th December 2014. Visitors to Selfridges Birmingham and Manchester were also be provided with the same design experience in-store and item was shipped next day for in-store pick up or sent by mail.
All t-shirts are made of BAPE® white super fine cotton and consumers were able to choose from a selection of twelve iconic BAPE camo patterns, colours, letters and numbers.
