Assignment:
AAF Omaha approached us with the task of coming up with a theme and design for the 2013-14 Nebraska ADDY Awards ceremony and collateral. The goal was to attract smaller shops in addition to the larger, stalwart agencies.

Approach:
We wanted the poster and the other collateral to reflect the novelty of returning to prom, since most of us have out-lived the chance of ever returning to a big high school dance. Our aim was to give the attendees one more opportunity to obtain some glory, either through an award or just getting lucky at prom. So, we created a character that encompassed everything that makes an adult prom so uniquely fantastic, and centered everything around him. We also added copy that played off the duality of high school and advertising.

Results:
The AAF Omaha Board of Directors was very pleased with the poster and theme, and even more excited by the results: this year, nearly 1,000 professional and student ADDY entries were received. There were also close to 100 entries from shops and individuals who had never entered before.
