Open Streets is an initiative that is occurring worldwide, and finally came to Toronto this summer (2014). It’s an event where main urban roadways are closed from motorized traffic, for the pleasure of everyone to enjoy; be it by foot, bicycle, rollerblades...it’s an opportunity for communities to take back the streets, to explore their neighbourhoods from a different point of view, and to encourage more public space in the city.
