A SCANDI' TOUCH

6A BOON TIONG RD - 4ROOM RESALE HDB
Owner is a young married couple. At first, they wanted to do some minor carpentry and hacking works for the kitchen, but after designer presented to them a proposed layout, they decided to renovate their Living room, Master Bedroom, 2 Toilets and Kitchen.

6A Boon Tiong Rd - Tiong Bahru, Singapore is a interesting location whereby surrounded with local coffe shops, bakery and boutique shops with different services. The young local also gather here most of the time. Tiong Bahru is also known as a good location for new housing development and condominiums.

Existing floor plan
This is actually a resale flat with 3 Bedrooms and 1 Living room. The previous owner coverted one of the rooms to be a walk-in closet, it was a big walk-in closet with vanity area but somehow lacked of lighting and dusty because the buil-in wardrobes were designed in open concept.

2 toilets were designed in the old designed with beige color scheme and the whole area inside the toilet is considered as "wet area" without no kerb to isulate shower area with vanity area.

Also, the kitchen was designed with dark wood color scheme and the whole Kitchen area looked bulky with lots of spaces were occupied for boxing up to cover the outlet pipes in Yard area.

The old entry door to the Master Bedroom was actually a customized sliding door with the partition which was the backing of the wardrobe in the Walk-in closet the other side.

The owner wanted to get rid off the sliding door since their concept is not suitable with sliding door and the old wardrobe has to be hacked down (which means the partition has to be dismantled too).

Proposed layout floor plan
Basically, the proposed layout sticks on the existing plan since the owner's budget did not allow to do a lot of works. Hence, new kind of color scheme, tiling and addtional carpentry works will be done for them.

Living area already came with a beige homogenous tiles in marble patterns. Designer tried to make the new design and color scheme to match with the current flooring, also, the style that owner prefers to have is Scandinavian Style - So it was not a big challenging to transform this old flat to be a Scandi/Vintage home.

Both Master Bedroom and Walk-in closet were replaced with a dark stained walnut parquet flooring. Master Bedroom was not required to do much work for it since the owner only needed some styling works with buy-off-the-shelf bookshelf, mirror and bedframe.

The reccessed part in between the wall also was painted in blueish grey color to bring in the winter feel for the Master Bedroom.
