"Turning The Tide" - Tarawa, Kiribati

Kiribati and Climate Change

The island of Kiribati is the most likely island to disappear to climate change in the next 40 years. What was once a beautiful lush island filled with coconut tree orchards and with over 200,000 inhabitants is no longer. Now what is left is an island that is almost all beneath meters of polluted water. It still is the home of roughly 100,000 that are packed tightly mostly on the south shore of the small country nation. Sadly, most of the populations are children that are looking to loose their home to flooding by 2050 and currently have nowhere to go.
