Microsoft TowerPlay
A strategy game for Microsoft employees all across the MENA region
Brief
The Microsoft consumer/online team was the team that dealt with some of Microsoft's coolest products: IE9, Windows 7 phone, Kinect and more. Microsoft wanted us to create awareness about this team and their products. They wanted us to bring back the cool to the consumer and online team.

Insight
We based our solution on the fact that every one wants to be at the top. And many will try whatever they can to make sure they get there. Even if it means bringing someone else down. Ambition, competitiveness, drive – call it what you want, people do it all the time. They plan, plot and strategize to climb up thecorporate ladder.

Solution
So we gave everyone their very own“Tower of Strategy” – a virtual tower made of stacked blocks.The towers will lose one block every day, so Microsoft staff will have to participate regularly to keep their towers from toppling by playing short little games and answering questions based on the features of Microsoft products.

They can also use their resources to topple someone else’s tower. This will make the exercise more exciting and competitive by enabling teams or departments to group together and plot against each other.

And to make this game stay within Microsoft, we only made it playable by members of the MEA Matters Microsoft internal Facebook group. We also created a Windows Phone 7 app for them to stay updated on
the go.

Results
- Membership to the group increased by almost 50%
- Constantly active Towerplay gamers: 230
