The milanese HUB's logo
Here is the logo for the milanese HUB of 2011's Global Sustainability Jam! The event has its own logo and all the hubs around the world were invited to develop their own using it as inspiration. Here is ours!
From the beginning I decided to avoid to use all the elements of the original logo because I thought it would be harder to come out with something original. That's why I decided to give more emphasis to the city name on my first proposal (second image) as the "global" aspect of the event is already appearing in the name, keeping the growing leaf and giving just a hint of the globe by using the plant to create a circular shape. The idea started on Illustrator, where I defined the path which than was used to create the 3D base on Cinema 4D. After that I rendered it and finished on Photoshop, adding some details and color correction.
I showed it here in the studio and together we decided to focus on the circular mark created by the letter "o", to closer to the other proposal. So I "planted" it on the floor to make it a little less surrealist and changed the font family for something heavier to equilibrate the whole thing.
The event will happen on the 28th, 29th and 30th of October, so if you you are around Milano during those days come to join us in the studio!
