BRAND IDENTITY FOR BOLO

Launched by Neelay Bhatt and chosen as the Big Idea that kicked off TEDxIndianapolis 2014 (www.tedxindianapolis.com) BOLO is an initiative aimed at building bridges and breaking barriers through the power of 'Hello' across any language.

It seeks to foster empathy and an understanding of the linguistic diversity around us by encouraging individuals and public / private entities to visibly embrace this diversity by incorporating at least two phrases (Hello, Thank You) in another language in all that they say or do.
You can check out more on the initiative at http://www.letssayhello.com/

The brief was to design an identity for the initiative that could be used across various platforms.
The second part of the brief included brand activation ideas that could engage the people who have come to the event and help spread the word about the initiative.

The logo is fairly simple in its form and embodies the spirit of interaction that is at the core of the initiative. Due to its simplicity, the logo lends itself to various applications. Two overlapping speech bubbles represent interaction between two different entities. Contrasting colours are used to further emphasize this.
Part of the logo can be used and still have brand recall value.
Table tents that could be placed at the cafe tables during the event. They have Hello and Thank you written in different languages and also details about the country to which the language belongs.
Leaflets that could have a puzzle for people to solve as they wait for their orders.
Possible photo opportunity that has speech bubble placards with Hello written in different languages.Through this, people already start participating in the initiative. These photos could then be shared on social media helping to spread the word.
