Lady Bird
Sophmore INTRO To CAD Final Project 2009

this was the final project for my Intro to CAD class Sophmore year. As you can see from my later work in my Advanced CAD class, i have evolved and grown from this project. However, i love the fabrics i created in this project as well as creating/manupulating all of the trend boards and inspiration boards. The Advertisement is first, then the business card we were required to create and then the fabric boards (all original designs), the trend boards (all manipulated and designed by myself) and then the CADS. I used Photoshop CS5.1 and Illustrator CS5.1 as well. the fabric content, yardage and pricing is all very elementary and was not the focus of this project, so please excuse any prices or percentages that might look outrageous (i was still learning then :)! Lady Bird was oringally inpired by Lady B. Johnson, First Lady to President Lyndon B. Johnson. Her nickname while in office was Lady Bird. I wanted to express a sense of girliness clashed with confidence and smarts to a younger market. This line is for a young girl aged 16 to 24 years old who doesn't care about Justin Beiber or Twilight but instead, reads  Jane Austin and loves watching Audrey Hepburn movies. I wanted to bring in a 1960's/ 1970's aesthetic to the fabrics and the advertisements while still keeping a fresh hand on the design of the CADS. Thank you and Enjoy!
