Sydney Surfing- Mardi Gras

A truly eye-opening event, Mardi Gras was an annual event that celebrated the LGBT community in Australia. It brought together the many supporters of the LGBT community who were proud of their benefits and weren’t afraid to show it. The atmosphere was loud and festive, the air filled with cheers and whistles from the supporters and music blasting through the speakers.

I wanted to recreate the whole atmosphere of Mardi Gras, from its loud, festive atmosphere to the message that it holds. Sashay through my exhibit runway to relive the experience and discover the true meaning of Mardi Gras, never be afraid to express yourself, no matter what others say.

Each colour from the Mardi Gras Logo, holds a significant meaning delivered by these quotes.

From this exhibition, I manage to learn how to organise my time wisely and be resourceful to get the write materials for my exhibition. My first time learning how to make a light sensor work by connecting the right wires together. After weeks of juggling with school work with this project, there were a few failures along the way but I was still satisfied by the outcome through the hard work and effort I put in.
