The Rise of the Guardians Movie and Fashion Show

The brief required that we work in groups of about 6 members and create a trailer for the movie called “The Rise of the Guardians”. We first worked together on coming up with the strategy for the whole project, then we had to create a group story board which we had to present to the lectures for feed back and to get the go ahead to carry on working on the trailer.

On the completion of the trailer we also had to promote it and make it viral using various social media networks. The brief also

required us to design a book cover for the rise of the guardians book, in which the movie derives from.

Our main theme for the whole campaign was the idea of good versus the bad. Thirdly we had to rework the OXX logo, which was going to be used for the fashion part of the brief. The OXX is a clothing line which was developed by the Parvathy Ramachandra Charity Trust as means of getting funds to keep the trust running, since the trust does not accept any donations. The main idea for this campaign was to get people to join the guardians and start living responsible lives away from crime drugs etc.

We then had to promote a fashion show which would be held at here at DUT, which will be hosted by OXX. We had to design an invitation, posters, sew in labels, pull up banners, swing tags and many other ways in which we can make people aware of the show.

The Movie

As a group we wanted to give the audience the option of choosing how they would want to live their lives, showing them both the paths of how either decision may result to. Thats when we came with the idea of “Dancing with the devil”.

So our punch line for the whole movie was “Rise with the Guardians or Dance with the devil”. Seeing that the guardians rise only to save people from doing evil and by doing evil you would be dancing with the devil.

The second message we were trying to put across in our trailer is that “When the devil asks you to dance, you must say never because the dance with the devil might last you forever”.

We show this aspect in the video when our main character who seemed to be doing wrong all along the trailer finds himself behind bars, full of regrets and does not have any chance to do things

differently. So what we were urging people to be part of the guardians and act against the fallen.
