Do You See What I See

Do you see what I see?

The Rocks has been a highly contested space on Sydney's foreshore, with much debate revolving around issues of gentrification of residential areas as the costal location is seen as an opportunity for prime real estate. Part of a group presentation for a guided tour of The Rocks, this piece of wayfinding ephemera serves to accompany the participant on their walk and stimulate discussion about the issues relevent to the area. Folding out from A5 to A3, this document contains some basic information as well as a map with the landmarks represented by icons. These icons draw from the geometry of the architectural forms iconic of each part of The Rocks. Four locations are chosen as the walk takes the visitor through the history of land development in the region, starting from the convict settlement at Foundation Park, through several social housing areas, then ending with luxury apartments at Walsh Bay.
