For the Center for Teaching and Learning at Montgomery College
This was part of a continuing series of workshops, conferences, and other events presented by the Center for Teaching and Learning at Montgomery College, a two-year college in Montgomery County, Maryland. The series targeted the college's faculty and instructional staff.
The particular event promoted below was a group of workshops encouraging faculty to adopt new instructional technology in the classroom, and how to use it in a way that millenial students would find attractive.
I wanted to take the emphasis off of technology for this promotion and give it human faces; faces like the students who attend the college. I used large images of individuals to imply a strong one-on-one dialogue. The grid-based type treatment floats in front of them, but has a slight transparency, suggesting a barrier between the subject and viewer breaking away.
The college wanted to conserve printing costs and wanted the option of making quick photocopies for smaller flyers, so we went with a simple black and white presentation.
