There is no political bias or hidden agenda in this piece. No fingers are being pointed or parties blamed. There is only a man, exhausted, frustrated, staring down the barrel of a gun and clinging to the tiny sliver of optimisim that also happens to teach him how to say "refrigerator" in Chinese.
Whether king or pauper, there is no man who could not do with a little more hope in these tumultuous days, even in the smallest of forms.
