For several years, I drew a monthly "How to" exercise and physiology comic in Flex Magazine starring this hyper-blown out character called Captain Anabolic. It was fun to do and I loved working with the editorial staff there. I also did other editorial illustrations and advertisements for Flex and other Weider publications. Most were done in a more traditional comic book style, but some employed my other more painterly techniques. I have included a few of both here as well as some in black and white so you can see what they looked like before I colored them. I hope you enjoy.
I did many issues of Captain Anabolic for Flex Magazine over the years as well as editorial and advertising illustrations. I also did work for other Weider publications such as Muscle and Fitness and Men's Fitness. Most of these also appeared in approximately 14 different foreigh edtions so the work traveled all around the world. It was always a kick to be in Paris or Rome and see it on the newstands there. Fun editorial staff to work with too.
