At the centre of the venue is the ‘Al Wasl’ plaza, the old Arabic name for Dubai, meaning
‘The Connection.’
THE INNOVATION PAVILION
It will be a place where presentations, projects, and ideas will be created, challenged and broadcast to the international community.
Solar panels will be installed around the venue to support the canopy structure in the production of green energy. This will meet the electricity demand of the facilities, services and the different events.
Visitors may look up at the canopy or look around the plaza to witness the digital multi-media projections that will be part of the night-time shows and special events.
Situated around the perimeter of the Expo site, large pavilions will form part of the landscape for the evening presentations.
Up to 24,000 people could be transported around the site every hour by a Gondola (cable car) system powered by energy generated onsite.
