The concept is of an automatic cocktail machine was to develop something that helped people in making cocktails at home withput having to put in a lot of effort or having to stock the home with bottles of all the different liquors required in making different cocktails, or having to look up and learn different recipes. It provides a simple solution bu using premade cokatils mixtures in the form of pods that can be used to make cocktails. Experimentation can also be done by using pods containing a single ingredient that can be mixed with other ingredients to come up with something different. Following are the key points taken into consideration while designing the cokctail machine.
Changing the overall look of a machine, making the machine more probable and placing the machine on top of the glass instead of the other way around.
Using the shape of a cocktail shaker to give a sense of familiarity. The overall aesthetic of the machine also takes inspiration from a Japanese traditional tea ceremony.
The loo and woring of the machine have been designed to maintain the cocktail experience of a high end bar.
Sensors to identify the pods (by reading the bar code) when they are dropped in vertically.
This also helps in remembring the pods placed by the users and the machine keeps a track of these choices to suggest cockatails in the future.
Insulation all around to keep the mixer chilled. The machine can be cooled by keeping inside a refrigerator. This eliminates the need of ice (since not using the right amount of ice caused dilution or concentration thereby ruining the taste of the drink).
Having a receptacle for shaking and stirring. The user only needs to select the option and the machine does it.
Having a flat screen on which the mixer is placed, This provides a big and comfortable display to select cocktails and ingredient options. These options can be dragged and placed on the mixer’s display to give an idea of what the mixture would be like.
The machine remembers the choices made by the user and suggests other options based on it.
Pods containing dry ingredients can be used to garnish the cocktails. These can be stored in the freezer.
The plate has a textured surface at the bottom to provide a better grip, and comfortable reading.
The plate senses the size of the glass and pours the drink accordingly.
Since the glass and the plate are directly in contact with each other there’s no chance of spilling.
Comes with an option of attaching legs to the plate to keep the machine at one place to provide stability and make the machine safe to use after consuming a few drinks too.
