Cosmic Egg - Visual Installation

The Origins

In the beginning,
There was neither Being nor Non-Being
Neither sky, earth nor what is beyond and beneath
What Existed  ? For whom ?
Was there water ?
Death , Immorality ?
Night, Day ?
Whatever there was, there must have been one
The primal one
Self Created, self sustained, by his own heat
Unaware of himself
Until there was desire to know himself.
That desire is the first seed of the mind, say seers
Binding Non-being with Being.
What was above and what was below ?
Seed or Soil ?
Who knows ?
Who really knows ?
Even the gods came later.
Perhaps only the primal being knows.
Perhaps not.

(Rig Samitha)
Myth - Mithya by Devdutt Pattanaik
I wanted to discover and explore a visual narrative using the medium of film and performance to bring alive a space using certain cosmic energies that have fascinated me.

I set out backpacking through the forests and oceans of the west coast of India through firefly lit forests and stormy dark seas capturing the cyclic energies of the Earth at its wildest form – during the monsoon lit skies as the land nourishes itself and rejuvenates. The process of creating these energies into a visual narrative went through an organic process that started of as a series of illustrations as a response to the 'Originis' and later was created as a projection film.
