Giffin calendar
Giffin Graphics, suppliers of high quality print machinery and servicing requested a desktop calendar to be designed that showcased the company's exceptional quality and print production executions, using a varied selection of Arjowiggins paper (one of their clients). It was imperative that the final piece highlighted the paper's characteristics.
The Solution: The creative team developed the concept of ‘Celebrating Cultures’ past and present, which resonates with the multi-national client base of the United Arab Emirates, as well as embracing Giffin Graphics’ global interests. The calendar featured a split page ‘flip down’ format with every month displaying a portrait representing a specific culture. A magnetic clasp secured the pages. The top half has designs and illustrations that represent the creative spirit and imagination of the culture, completing the portrait. Creative quotes from individuals, past and present, from the various cultures displayed are included on each month adding an extra dimension of interest. Print techniques, such as dayglow pantone inks and CMYK overprint on hotfoil, to name a few, further showcases the properties of the paper stock.
