Collaboration on Dominika Kubickova's traditional slovak blue printing technique (modrotlac) project.

Modrotlač - indigo blue printing is a traditional Slovak fabric reserve printing technique, based on overdyeing a cloth with indigo, which was previously printed with a special reserve formula (pap), particular to central and eastern Europe folk art and craft tradition.

This dress was made for an exhibition ''Dyed blue'' organised by ÚĽUV - Slovak Centre for Folk Art Production, taking place Sep 2014 - Jan 2015.

''..Remember the Sunday, and keep it holy'' coming from this Christian tradition, an idea of a ''Sunday dress'' has somehow became ingrained in our minds, making it the best, that a woman's wardrobe could provide.

The dress's print is based on all the 574 Sunday dates, starting 1 JAN 2010 to 31 DEC 2020. The dress becomes a personal diary of its owner, who, despite not concealing her shoulders, or knees, moreover her décolletage won't forget about keeping the Sunday holy (enough). Additionally, the traditional blue printing technique, aiming for its revival in contemporary Slovakia, adds to the festive character of a garment.
