Sprints by Fine Acts- "Traditional Values"

✨In 2023 I was part of the last edition of SPRINTS by @fineacts, which engaged 20 artists to work on the topic of overcoming negative stereotypes towards vulnerable groups in Bulgaria. They named the resulting collection of illustrations TRADITIONAL VALUES. From @fineacts: "Something “being contrary to traditional values" is often an argument to limit people and rights, and to instill division and hatred. With this creative action, we recall the true traditional values of a society – love, acceptance, and support."

🍃As for my entry, I thought about how saddening it is that our cities are segregated, especially in Eastern Europe where Romani people live in isolated slums, suffer segregation in schools and are violently targeted by the police.
I chose the park and the playground as the public space to represent this issue. My hope is to live in a world where public spaces are safe for all, inclusive, accessible and free. Where children can play with each other and receive the care and education that they need.

🎨Mine and other illustrations are published under an open license on TheGreats.co, a platform for free socially engaged visuals empowering activists and organizations worldwide to use and adapt them for their campaigns and communications.

🖼️The illustrations were also shown in a pop up exhibition at PORT-A :)
