Poppin' Off Pills Smoke/Incendiary Grenade Skins Counter-Strike 2
Summary of creation process
This is one of my first Counter-Strike 2 skins I have contributed to the workshop, made moreso as a concept, as Counter-Strike 2 does not have skin support for grenades yet other than inspect animations. I wanted to try my hand in an unexplored area of skin making. Kosear recently made a HE grenade collection, and so I wanted to be the first to make smoke/incendiary grenade skins.
Because both the smoke and incendiary grenades share the exact same model/UV, I am able to kill 2 birds with one stone and make 1 single texture that can be applied to either grenade types on Valve's own accord.
Poppin' Off Pills was created using Blender and Photoshop, I 3D modelled a pill, then each individual pill was manually stacked as if it was agaisnt the pill bottle walls in a realistic manner in mind. I also created a normal map to simulate the grip ridges on a pill bottle lid. As well as "push down & turn" on top. The label itself has some fun details/jokes.

Since we (skin creators) never really know what Valve want, we create multiple color variants so our skins have a higher chance of being accepted, I specifically made multiple color combinations as an option for Valve for readability pruposes. What I mean by this is, players have concerns on readability of what grenades have been thrown/dropped. CS2 is a highly tactical shooter, this means everything has to be clean cut for competetive gameplay. Grenades are hard to identify as is because of their tiny size, so I made a red variant because the base incendiary grenade is red.
This is why it is good to make alternative colors for Valve to choose from. All colors I made are also typically used for real pill bottles as well, so it works out and doesn't go against the concept.
