My Children's Book Design and Mock Up
I want to start shopping my idea and my children's book concept and design to publishers. So I figured a way to show them my book design and get a little more practice with Adobe Substance Stager (beta version). Trying out some concepts to show them how it looks and get to test out the AI section in the Adobe software. The front and back cover where designed in Adobe Illustrator and then moved to Adobe Substance to make a mock up and to show it how it would look in a child's room. I put in some prompts and started to tweak them a nd play with the lighting and the positioning of the book in the room. I feel I got a good example of what I want to show to the publishers so they can visually see it ans see it in a child's room. Very please with the outcome and always happy to play with the software.

The drawings were done traditionally then using Adobe Capture to vectorize them and then using Adobe Illustrator to color and layout the front and back cover and get them ready to move them to Adobe InDesign and then get the files ready to upload them to Blurb (blurb.com) to get it printed and see how the first test print or prototype looks so I have a nice hard copy to check design and layout and if all the colors work.

I found this new way to color my illustration and vectorize them and not have to worry about file size or resolution any more. This means I get to keep my style and make it look like mine and a traditional feel, plus being able to build brushes and effects in Adobe Illustrator. This definitely speeds up my process and allows me to do both traditonal illustration and now digital illustration as well.

Here is one version with no background and here is the version using AI to help with the background as well as the original cover design.
