Lidl - Camara Noastra - Urban Legends (2019)
What: Promote the partnership between Lidl and the historical city of Sibiu, the new European Capital of Culture, while exploring the core of Romanian food in its heartland.
How: An online series "Urban Legends" that explores local myths and heroes in a cinematic, interactive, and tasty experience.
Why: Showcase tradition with a contemporary twist.
Urban legends and the interwar age became a stage for the Lidl’s range of traditional food. Romanians consider this era the last glory age and love to embellish and mystify this period of blazing progress, splendid decadence and authentic tradition. Atmosphere and recipes were recreated in Romanian-style plots containing our traditional…passion, betrayal, fallen heroes and delightful villains. Shot in the historical city of Sibiu, we looked for authenticity through set design, costumes and hair of the day, yet trying to keep a fresh eye and a contemporary approach as we searched for an alternative, exciting way of portraying our history and our traditional food.
