For this project, I was required to create a magazine cover for any magazine of my choice. One of the main things that was needed, was that the image need to be masked out somehow. This image could not simply be exported or pasted in, and some edits needed to be done to it. In my case, I decided to use a image that I found from Adobe Stock images. For my project, I decided to do a magazine cover on a food related magazine because I thought that would be the most interesting.
I started out by doing research and looking at various magazine covers. I took note of designs that I liked, and designs that I disliked. Something I noticed was that many of the designs that I found appealing were designs that had a large eye catching image. I decided to the same, and created a cover where there would be one main image with text surrounding it. Most magazines have a large title, featuring the magazine brand. In this case, that text was "Foodies". I also found that most magazines had a large, and eye-catching tagline that would give a vague blurb of what the magazine was about. On the sides, I decided to include potential articles that the magazine might have. I also tried to emphasize the articles that people would find most appealing, and give them a reason to look at this magazine rather than any other magazine.
