I am Joanne Patriz Vertudes, a student in MAPÚA University Makati, and in this Photo Journal for our class, we were tasked to take pictures of our surrounding environment. I went with taking photos of my encounters when I would commute to school, areas around the immediate vicinity of my home, and places that I frequent.
"Houses on the outside"
When I was a kid these were always here, I thought the "Houses on the outside" were really cool. Now that I'm older, I'm beginning to think differently.

"Family Trips"
I saw this family of three moving out of the tricycle to go visit the ukay nearby. I decided to take a photo. It reminded me of my childhood days, and there used to be a toys shop where the hair salon is now.

"Alma Mater"
I visited my old school during Junior High. I decided to take a photo of the scenery- mainly the thin tree that used to be a small sprout when I was still studying there.

"Surprise Flower"
I was walking around the neighborhood when I spotted this flower between the banana tree leaves, and I was shocked to even spot it in the first place.

"Ginger"
I passed by my friends' house, and I saw their dog, Ginger, looking at me to greet me. She never liked getting photographed.

"Usual Commute"
Here is a photo on my usual commute to and from school, I always take the boat to cross the river, and there is usually a long queue. While waiting, I decided to take a photo of the boat crossing over to our side to drop off passengers and fetch us.

"Commuting"
On this commute, it was a really hot day. I spotted a woman standing by and a couple of jeepneys were passing by, and decided to take a photo.

"Wires"
I saw the tangled up wires of the neighborhood before I saw the sunset, and decided to take a photo of the unsightly tangled up wires, and the beauty of the sunset itself.

"Going Back"
On my way back home, the streets were very bright, so I decided to take a photo. The streets were very bright at night, and made me feel a bit warm inside.

"Peace"
I saw the empty street with the different colored lights as I walked home, and took a photo showing the peacefulness of the empty street with a view of the small moon.
