Color Studies - Composition Final

My four assigned words for this project were ocean, electricity, birds, and furniture.
I wanted my composition using these four elements to feel cohesive. The concept I chose to accomplish this was that of an underwater sitting area.
When editing the composition to make it more realistic, I paid special attention to the lighting, adding a glowing effect to the lamp to achieve the look I required. I also painted light and shadow onto the ground and chair.
When working on the oil painting effect, the trickiest part was translating the glow effect using brushstrokes.
My favorite version of this composition is the refined composition. I think that despite the challenges, I figured out how to accomplish the glow effect of the lighting realistically for the environment.
