Beginning of FMP Ideas - 16

My final concept idea came to me when I was talking about my initial ideas to my peer and they mentioned multiple choice games. As I am doing Games Art at university, it felt right to include my own unique and personal twist on that device in my final major project. I poured my ideas onto the page in a stream of consciousness.
Originally, I wanted to tell a story about revenge, I eventually changed this as I realised it would be easier to tell a story about betrayal instead as I could still draw it from Adam’s perspective. The story I end up drawing does have connotations of revenge, especially the centre piece as it is a boss fight, but it is more focused on Adam’s betrayal towards Eve.
Once I had my final ideas all written down, including my poses research, my symbolism research and my discoveries about symbolic artists I decided to start collecting some primary images and secondary research, to make sure I got it right.
Researching triptychs really helped me gather a solid idea of what they usually include, their colour schemes and their compositions.
Despite already researching flowers and drawing them in different media I wanted to collect my own primary research to add even more of a personal touch. I ended up including the red bush in my garden in my final designs.
When researching triptychs and talking to my tutor, I realised most are painted onto wood. I was originally just going to draw the images and mount them on their own. But I decided to step outside my comfort zone and try woodworking. Before I started measuring and cutting wood, I wanted to design a few mock ups. This decision benefited me massively in the end as I ended up getting the first and second mock up measurements wrong, when it came to making the final thing I felt confident in what I was aiming for.
