The Art of Devotion ::天官赐福

The Art of Devotion is a vital contributor to preserving Singapore's intangible cultural heritage. By delving into the rich tapestry of Chinese folk beliefs, the project highlights the temple's role as a cornerstone of tradition. Through immersive storytelling and engaging exhibits, it not only educates visitors about the temple's historical and cultural significance but also fosters a deeper appreciation for Singapore's diverse heritage. Recognising the temple as a focal point for cultural dissemination, this project seeks to ensure the continuity of intangible cultural practices for future generations. By preserving and celebrating these traditions, the project contributes to Singapore's vibrant cultural landscape and reinforces the importance of heritage preservation in fostering cultural identity and cohesion.
Design Concept

The design concept draws inspiration from various aspects of Taoist traditional culture. For instance, the layout is modeled after the traditional Luo Shu Tai Chi Bagua diagram, dividing the plane into three sections and arranging them in a grid format resembling the nine-square grid. Additionally, the deities' birthdays are displayed according to the Chinese Bagua Time Division to alleviate the heaviness of textual information.
