Julian Germain Research:
Julian has numerous photo books based around domestic spaces, below are a few example of this. Germain's book 'for every minute you are angry you lose sixty seconds of being happy' is based around his friendship with Charles. He showed this by observing him throughout many years, to show the real Charles through his images rather than fake emotions. The images Julian creates form when working with Charles are simplistic, vibrant and informal in some senses. Which creates a warm atmosphere and feeling when looking at the images. He believes that there is no need to actively search for 'dramatic' subjects to photograph, but to focus more on the meaning behind your work, this means that something someone may deem as accustomed would be another mans story.
I have tried to incorporate his work into mine when taking my photos. I think his work is aesthetically pleasing to the eye with the soft colours of the image. The image below shows how I tried to use the colouring to compliment my photos more.
