Planck
Planck is a monthly journal of astronomy and astrophysics that aims to stand out among the current Italian scientific publishing scene. Its complex structure leans on the synergy between visual design and subject matter, as elements fused into a unified whole. Planck faces a challenge in providing a wider knowledge
and deeper understanding of the universe. Soundness and consistency of the magazine are assured
by an overall design issued from a paradigmatic graphic system derived from the visual translation of
the laws of astrophysics. The purpose of a scientific publication is the recognition of authority in its own
field. In order to achieve and exercise this role, writings featured in Planck are directed to expert readers.
As MA Communication Design degree, this project wants to improve the communication of scientific
magazines through the conscious emplyoment of a visual structure able to enhance the subject.
