FINAL PROJECT: GALAXY CROSSING
Screen recording of my game:
Throughout all of my lessons, I used Google photos, and I created the main screen using Canvas. The love I had for Geometry Dash in my early years served as my inspiration for this game. On the other hand, I wanted to be creative and create a game where movement was in both horizontal and vertical directions. The concept of space/galaxy was purposefully chosen since it was thought to appeal to a wide range of people due to its natural attraction and general popularity. The visual allure of many galaxy backgrounds also strengthened my choice.
My main player is a red square that travels up, down, left, and right to get across the platforms without getting hit by any falling objects. There are eight classes in the structural framework, each of which has a variety of functions. Three classes handle the individual levels, two handle the survival screens, and one controls the main screen. One class is dedicated to capturing the "game over" moment, and the last class serves as a capstone, symbolizing the successful completion of every stage.
I took inspiration from classic game creation projects like the PONG assignment, Bouncing Balls, and Falling Balls to inform and improve my project. This allowed me to gain iterative development and expertise in game design ideas.
