After a massive update to my art style and commission page last year, a good friend and longtime client (who wishes to remain anonymous) reached out to commission me for their new DnD character! I primarily advertise myself as an illustrator, but I have always had a love for character design, and feel confident enough in my study of it to sell my character designs along side my illustrations. This commissioner gave me a few key words and a doll-maker concept to work with, and asked me to show my clothing reference and inspiration as well. 

I offer a type of character design commission called "paper doll" wherein for one fee of $45 USD I draw a blank base of the character, give them one hairstyle, and one outfit for no additional charge. If the commissioner wants additional hairstyles or outfits for the character, they can get them for a reduced price, as I then only have to draw a new outfit onto the same base. The commissioner liked this option, so I began work on the blank base, while looking for references on the outfit. 

One of they keywords was "angel" although the commissioner specified she did not need to have feathers- the characters design was meant to be loosely based off a nun, although they did not want the character to have to cover too much skin.
