“Martino Dolci amava comunicare. Con le parole dell’amicizia, con la condivisione di emozioni. Con il silenzio dello sguardo e lo scoppio di una risata. Con la pittura, naturalmente. Una pluralità di linguaggi riassunta nei suoi dipinti, nelle forme di uomini e cose, nelle strabilianti cromie di paesaggi e fattezze di volti. Per cercare di avvicinare al meglio l’opera di Dolci la tecnologia digitale può costituire intelligente aiuto. Non sostituire la purezza di uno sguardo senza mediazioni, ma certamente condurci “dentro” le sue opere.
Un’e-book da scorrere liberamente, senza le costrizioni di formati e sedicesimi a stampa. Per indugiare su un passaggio della critica, ma soprattutto per dilatare quadri e scendere nel particolare, utilizzare dita e occhi per estendere la tela, avvicinare le rughe nell’espressione di un viso, il colore di un’iride o cogliere ogni singola pennellata utilizzata per “costruire” un edificio, per sezionare e comparare oggetti della sognante quotidianità, per “entrare” in una fabbrica, o dalla finestrella di una torre colombaia; per determinare le singole gocce di ruscelli verdeggianti o giungere sin quasi ai cristalli di neve che coprono tetti e colline.

A plurality of languages is summed up in his paintings in the forms of men and things; in eye-popping colors of landscapes; and, in features of faces.
Digital technology can help provide more insight when approaching the work of Dolci. It does not replace the purity of a glance without mediation; but it certainly can lead you “inside” his works.

You can use the fingers and the eyes to extend the canvas; see the close up of the wrinkles in the expression of a face; note the color of an eye iris or catch every single brushstroke used to “build” a building. You can also dissect and compare the objects of the dreamy everyday life or “enter” inside a factory, or through the tiny window of a dovecote tower. Finally, you can determine the individual drops of greenly streams or almost touch the snow flakes that cover the roofs and hills.”
