Great horned owl (Buho virginianus)
The Great horned owl (Buho virginianus), also called, the tiger owl, or the Hoot owl, is practically well camouflaged, mostly dark brown, but varies in color. It feeds on a variety of animals, including mammals, birds, and reptiles.
Found in a variety of habitats, from dense woods to prairie and deserts that have at least some trees.  It is also found in wooded towns and suburbs. 


This individual was found in the Nacional Aviary of Colombia, Km 14.5 passing the Barú bridge, road Cartagena-Barú. Colombia.
