I was asked to design a mascot for an Internet security company. I had in mind the idea of creeating a mascot for the company that could be also used as an "interactive web assistant " on their website and be reused for promotional purposes for future events.

 

My idea was to create a cute and playful character, as agreed in the brief outlined by the company. Since the official logo of the company looks like Robin Hood's hat, the animal had to be a smart, watchful and sharp character. All paths lead to a meerkat.

 

The character design was done on paper and using felt tip pens, then vectorized and later animated in Adobe Flash. Every element is separately designed and animated to give the design the possibility of being reused. The mouth and eyes had unbedded positions and key frames for different actions (blinking, talking...).
