Pride Week 2022 at Swinburne Vietnam

From 3rd to 9th October 2022, the Pride Week at Swinburne Vietnam was organized with the purpose to raise awareness of LGBTQ+ related knowledge and existing issues within the local context, and to create friendly and belonging spaces for students to share their stories.
A series of creative and interactive activities were carried out including Make It Rainbow Day, Queer Shop, Pride Week Radio, and a social media campaign. The Pride Week concluded with the most remarkable event of UniTour - Workshop Khuôn là khổ, hosted by the Institute for Studies of Society, Economy, and Environment (iSEE) at Swinburne Vietnam.
As a core team member, I served as the Media Manager of the project, in charge in building concept and content of onsite and online activities, in liasing with partners, and in managing the promotion plan.
1. Make it Rainbow Day
Make it Rainbow Day was an interactive idea, inviting participants to wear clothes in the prominent colors of the LGBTQ+ flag. The goals were to elevate the LGBTQ+ community's status in society and to foster a more aware public.
The famous Queer Shop by Hanoi Queer was also invited to Make it Rainbow Day to sell their LGBT-inspired merchandise. All products were sold out in less than 3 days, and the revenue from students' purchases was sent back to Hanoi Queer.
2. Pride Week Radio
To better promote the Pride Week, Signal Club delivered a special series called Pride Week Radio, where Signal hosts discussed stories about LGBTQ+ community submitted by Swinburne Vietnam students, and updated on-going activities and events of the Pride Week.
The radio were played directly on campus, during breaks between classes.
3. Social Media Campaign
Social media post series was presented to cover necessary knowledge for students about the contemporary LGBT movements.
4. UniTour - Workshop Khuôn là khổ
The Pride Week concluded with the most remarkable event of UniTour - Workshop Khuôn là khổ, hosted by the Institute for Studies of Society, Economy, and Environment (iSEE) at Swinburne Vietnam.
The event attracted an impressive number of participants, including students of Swinburne Vietnam and other universities, of interested young people, and even of parents.
