Both of the locations of my previous two seriesreference ideological places, neither of which I think live up to expectations, so Iwanted to find a third location, at which I could create a separate work thatwould assist in tying all the series together as a meaningful exploration.Sommerville proved the perfect place for this. It is a new suburb out past Frankstonthat was built purely for its proximity to the commuter train line. There Ifound a house that was under construction, in the final stages of having theframe mantled: the birth of architecture, it is the only time wherearchitecture as space is controlled. Past the point of completion it is under aconstant process of change. This final image, Sommerville, 28/5/2011, is large scale (1189 x 841) to reference the Dusseldorf school's favouritism for large prints, and also works to illustrate theconstruction element of the work, so that you can see the nuts and boltsholding it together.
