This year's Bot Badge was designed specifically for Defcon 19. The badge was created to introduce the Defcon community to hardware and hardware hacking, since the majority of attendees are software people, or they just don't know about hardware. The badge features a simple to play game that prompts users to build different electronic circuits and then it will test the circuit to see if it has been wired up correctly. The game starts out easy by asking about resistors, but it works through diodes, transistors, and all the way up to building a ripple counter. With each correctly built circuit, the game will move on to the next level (14 total), and if the user incorrectly builds the circuit, it will ask if they would like to try again.
