實驗蠟在固體與液體間的變化與可能性,呈現蠟之間相互附著自然流動的狀態。創造出無法利用3D建模做出的造型,並衍伸成一系列燈具。此產品目標是解決塑料燈罩廢棄物污染問題,而 là tears 所使用的材料是可重複使用的;如果燈罩損壞或者想要更換新的風格,可以再次將材料熔化並重新塑形。蠟與燈光的結合也象徵著點燃蠟燭產生光的寓意。

Experimenting with the transformations and possibilities of wax between solid and liquid states. Expanding them into a series of lighting fixtures. The goal is to address the issue of plastic lampshade waste pollution. The materials used in là tears are reusable; if the lampshade is damaged or want to change a new style, it can be easily reshaped by remelting. This also symbolizes the metaphor of burning the candle to produce light.

使用大豆蠟與蜜蠟作為材料。
Utilizing soy wax and beeswax as materials.

Design Concept

切入點 ENTRY POINT
以蠟燭融化作為發想,實驗蠟自然所形成蠟痕,堆疊出猶如鐘乳石的造型,衍伸出一系列產品。
Drawing inspiration from the melting of candles, experimenting with the natural formation of wax traces, stacking them to create shapes reminiscent of stalactites, and extending into a series of products.

實驗過程 EXPERIMENTAL PROCESS
最初將模具放置不同方向並淋上蠟呈現出不同效果,也嘗試過翻砂以金屬方式呈現蠟淚的形狀,但無法很完美呈現我所想要的結果。最後發展方向是先以海藻礁將模具翻模後,淋上蠟後並脱模。
Initially, I experimented by placing molds in different directions and pouring wax to achieve varied effects. I also attempted sand casting to represent the shape of wax tears in metal, but it didn't perfectly realize the desired outcome. Finally, the development direction shifted to using seaweed reefs to mold the wax after pouring the wax and demolding.


製作過程 PRODUCTION PROCESS
起初都是將蠟淋在模具外面所形成的造型,並沒有脫模,嘗試脫模後,由於模具太硬會使蠟裂掉,因此往後製作改善成是先利用海藻礁灌模之後,再將蠟淋在上面,最後將海藻礁挖掉,進而得到完整且全都是蠟的成品。
In the previous attempts, when attempting demolding, the wax tended to crack due to the hardness of the mold. Therefore, in subsequent productions, the process involves first casting with alginate to create a mold. The wax is then poured into this mold, and finally, the alginate is removed, leaving a complete product entirely made of wax.




銜接處 CONNECTION 
為了要與蠟融化和流動做呼應,
因此先製作好燈座模型再淋上蠟, 
以3D掃描的方式保留自然的細節作為燈座銜接處。 
To harmonize with the natural flow, using 3D scanning, 
this natural detail was retained as part of the lamp base connection.
以金屬燙印在蠟上來呈現商標。 
Using metal to hot stamp the logo onto the wax to present the trademark.
