Kaleidscope
For this project I wanted to explore an idea I had been having for a while now and I wanted to see how it would look once completed. However, it's safe to say that it turned out to be harder than I expected and that the constraints turned out to be heavier than I thought.

But nevertheless, the main idea that I had when starting to brainstorm with this project was butterflies. Why butterflies? Well, it has been a long while since the very first time I started to look out for butterflies as a decoration for my room, and that is because for the longest while i've believed that butterflies can carry dreams in their colorful wings so I tend to create paper butterflies and hang them over my bed as to keep this purpose in mind.
With this project, I wanted to create a specific piece that would hang over my desk and carry my aspirations and dreams as I work on my hobbies and homework.

Sadly, I couldn't quite finish the project in the way i wanted, but I hope to be able to finish it eventually and allow it to carry my hopes in the form of colorful butterflies.
Process
For this project I mainly needed color paper, acrylic and a fishing line, beside some other materials. But for the start, you will start by cutting 3inch by 3inch squares out of paper and folding them in the shape of butterflies. You will need about 80 of these, which, believe it or not, it's not quite enough, but it will suffice for now.
As for the how to fold them, you can follow this tutorial on  how to do it:

You can also cut the wings to make them round and once finished, they should look something like this:
After that, you are gonna use a big needle to make holes in the middle of the butterflies and pass them through a 20 inch long fishing line, placing about 5 butterflies on this one.
Then, after that, you are to repeat this process 16 times and using hot glue you can secured them with some space in between each one
It should look something like this:
Next, you are gonna glue some fishing weights to the end of the fishing line to make sure that the lines stay down, since the weight of the butterflies isn't much and this will help the fishing line stay straight.
ignore the crude technique.

After, you are gonna start cutting two acrylic rings, one 12 inch diameter and another 10 inch diameter. For this process I used a laser cutter.
At the end, you are going to tie 8 of the 16 butterfly lines to the 12 inch ring, and the other 8 to the other ring, make sure to use double knots. Next you are going to cut and use 4 8 inch fishing lines to tie both rings together, careful to make sure that the lengths are the same in between both of the rings.

After some small picking here and there, you should have something like this:
