"The US and Mexico: Between Partnership and Conflict"

Released in 2001 as part of Routledge's Contemporary Inter-American Relations series, The United States and Mexico: Between Partnership and Conflict is a 252-page book that investigates the political relationship between the US and Mexico. Beginning in the early 1800s and proceeding into the modern era, it details the many challenges of sharing one of the longest unbroken land borders in the world. In the Canadian Journal of Latin American and Caribbean Studies, reviewer Hepzibah Mumoz Martinez called The United States and Mexico "insightful" and its analysis "well informed."

While recognizing the vital trade partnership between the US and Mexico, the book doesn't shy away from the history of conflict that they share. Over the years, issues such as migration, drug trafficking, and environmental problems have placed significant stress on an otherwise friendly partnership.

Routledge published a second edition of The United States and Mexico: Between Partnership and Conflict in 2009. It is currently available in e-book form and both hardback and paperback print editions.
