Here are some different angles of my ,,mouldy,, style plaster body-cast sculpture of myself in progress. I`m exploring war conflict within myself and how destructive and almost impossible it is to hide what is happening inside of you regardless how much you want it. Want to express that it is really important to share your own experiences no matter what they are as it is the only way for our society to move forward. Exploring combination of already made objects and plaster. Piece inspired by Antony Gormley.
Here is a double page spread of my sketchbook where I`m exploring conflict by looking at Goya.
Here are some of my drypoint prints based on own photos and artist inspiration inspired by conflict and drug abuse theme. By using my friends picture I have made during her drug use I`ve created drypoint. On a background I`ve used dry paint powder to create a feeling she have while using drugs as she explained to me.
Here I am sketching the anatomy from direct observation of a skeleton by using pencil and pen. First exploring through a 3D design app.
On this double page in my sketchbook I am exploring conflict theme by looking at different under themes.
Award winning piece at BAS (Bucks Art Society) Young Artist Award - 1st Prize, done in mixed media such as charcoal, oil paint, pastels, oil bars. Expressing myself through a self portrait inspired by internal feelings related to a ,,last hug,, with my mother during the war. Contrast of different expressions due to hiding my own feeling from myself. Sketches of different compositions done by using 2D sketching app. Piece inspired by Jenny Saville and her well known usage of colour and overlapping figures. Usage of my own photography.
Here I am developing usage of expressive combination of colour, brushstrokes and mixed media. Painted from my own photos. Further exploring of overlaying. Inspired by Andrew Salgado.
Here I am exploring conflict through different style and mixed media. Looking how Topolski expressing theme of conflict.
Exploring cultural identity and movement by looking at Ukrainian national dances, main colours used in traditional textiles. Combination of blue and red- reference to a woman and male energy in some of the regions of Ukraine. Dance and movement referring to a freedom and how important it is to a cultures and therefore people. Wanted to mention that culture is what make us united and different at the same time. Figures was taken form primary photos. I have used different techniques and media such as quilting, fabric dying, gradient dying, Machine Embroidery, jelly print, felting, sawing on leather, folding. Pieces inspired by Rosie James and Luke Haynes. trying different colours through usage of 2D programs.
Further exploring of overlaying and conflict theme. Through this piece I wanted to talk about self harm and how usually its a ,,loop,, from which you cant run unless starting to talk about it with people you trust. Judging of society because of her scars a problem that my sister faced. Therefore her response that her mind saw is to oversexualizing herself through different things. By using mixed media such as oil paint, charcoal, pastels, oil bars ripping of a canvas and thread I wanted to communicate with society who judges or don't take it serious. I`ve used my own photographs to sketch out different positioning.
Here I`m exploring usage of photographs and objects. This ongoing tent piece reflecting different feelings after I left warzone and how no place feels like home therefore I used tent to represent a temporary home and a photographs inside represent all the memory that I am carrying with me. In the tent I decided to sew photographs of significant pets and people in my life. Tent almost protect those memories and even if I don't have home, memories will be a thing that will push me through the life. I manipulated my photographs digitally to demonstrate how I perceive those people or memories by adjusting colours. Piece inspired by Tracy Amen and her own tent piece.
Here I`m exploring a theme of loosing a childhood during a war through my own experience. I moulded a doll and by adding clay in a different forms such as bricks, traditional patterns, stones, ropes, holes to represent all of the horrors of the war that I myself experienced. I cut a hole inside and put a patterned piece of clay to represent a family and culture in mould and blood. The doll looks broken and abandoned to show how many kids suffered and still do because of the war. I glazed my piece in earthy, mouldy, pale colours and fired it at a earth ware temperature. Though many of my pieces are war related I like to make my pieces not too obvious so other people can also reflect and connect with my art work.
